~For
the sushi lovers~
To
make this possible, you need:
1 cup of Japanese rice
2 sheets of Nori - Seaweed (available in most supermarkets)
Any desired filling, I've used salmon
Sesame seeds - extra flavor
Mayonnaise (to keep it
together)
Salt
Method

Make
sure you have your ingredients out and ready

First.. you rinse the rice..
If you have one cup of rice..
you add 2 cups of water.. wash it thoroughly..
3 or 4 times until the water is
clear..
Now put it in a frying pan and
let it boil on the lowest fire...
that was you can get a really
nice touch to the rice.. add salt.. 2 teaspoons are good..
After you boil it about 20
minutes.. and you make sure its sticky enough to take off the
fire..
pour it in a bowl.. not in a
plate.. in a bowl to keep it sticky.

Now to the part where you use your cutting skills..
Get a really thin knife so you
can cut the salmon into really thin slices..
Also cut the nori (seaweed)
into nice slices.

Get a small of cup of water, add up some salt to it and rinse
your hand with that
so the rice doesn't stick to them..
Put an amount of rice in the palm of your hand, spread it wisely
and add the salmon
or your desired filling in the center of the rice amount in your
hand..
Then you add more rice on top..

Now start forming the rice into
a house-top shape or a triangle..

After shaping the rice.. you need to cover it with seaweed..
Cut that in a small shape so
that you can have it holding the bottom part
of the rice, allows you to
enjoy eating the rice and not making a big mess..

Now dip your rice balls into
the sesame.. from the sides or the top..
it should stick to it with no
hassle..
That will give you a nice taste
to it..

This is the end product.. the
steps seem too easy but that's how easy it is to make Onigiri..
Really simple.. really easy and
you can eat it anytime of the day
or you can take it with you on
trips to enjoy..

Try it with
other fillings of your choice.. BE CREATIVE! ;)
