Poppy Seed Cake

To make this possible, you need:

1/3 cup poppy seed (بذر الخشخاش)

3/4 cup of milk
185 g of butter
2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of sugar
3 eggs
2 cups of self raising flour

 

Method

 

In a little bowl, mix milk and poppy seed, and leave for one hour

 

185 grams of butter..

 

 Prepare the ingredients to be mixed.. make sure to cut butter into smaller pieces

 

 Put the butter, sugar and vanilla extract in one big bowl.. 

Mix well together..

 

prepare a 14 x 21cms loaf pan.. spread the bottom with wax paper.. 

 

Mix the poppy seed, milk and eggs together then add to the other mix..

 

 Add flour, then with an electrical mixer, mix on slow.. then on medium

for around 3 mins or until well-combined.

 

When will mixed, pour the batter into the pan. 

 

Make sure batter is evenly covering all sides.

Put into oven for an hour. Cook till golden brown..

 

take out from oven, let cool down for few mins, then cut and serve =D

 

Recommended to be served with Turkish coffee :)
