[craving: Today.. two weeks from now..]

After his disappearance for around a year, he's finally back.. simpler.. more personal yet still very interesting & always useful.. e3ashig.com is up & running.. He's one of those rare few who make us proud that he's from the UAE.. always strikes you with his wit & cleverness.. His updates are always interesting.. whether its about sharing glimpses of his life expressed in an attractive story-telling way.. or his fresh, useful catch of cyber news & links taken from the deep, wide sea of the internet.. or bringing up an important topic to trigger his visitors' thinking.. Sultan never fails to impress & I would very highly recommend you visit his website on a regular basis.. =) *welcome back to the cyber chaos*

Though I've been in Dubai yesterday for several business meetings.. the 'yuckiness' of having to do work on weekends has soon been cleared by the company of my best brother who is always supportive.. very VERY patient.. cool & is one of my best shopping buddies (in between meetings).. I ended severely hurting my credit card but my happiness is sometimes materialistically expensive.. (& yes I deserve it too like he said) =P.. though I never say it to his face.. but I love him truly & I'm lucky to have one cool brother like him.. *hugs*

New links have been added.. check them out.. ;)

[craving: Patience]

It's one of those days.. when life hands you that sour SOUR spoon & sees if you can handle it & swallow it.. When suddenly your brain goes on standby, & you find yourself doing something totally irrational like buying over-priced stuff that you totally do not need (or would use at all), going against all common-sense advice from different people then, not surprisingly, regretting it.. It's one of those days when you try to convince yourself its meant to be & everything will be ok but deep down inside you know its totally all your fault & you really saw this coming but ignored.. so you deserve what is happening & might as well just accept it & bear the consequences.. (>_<")

If only I wasn't so stubborn.. *sigh*
[Final whisper: Don't get me wrong, I am not as depressed as I may seem.. but I need to let some steam out]

Today, I watched over my little niece build her own house out of a shoe box as part of their Grade 1 end of year project.. From writing her little shopping list, taking her to buy the stuff, watching her paint the house & finally adding the little touches.. it was a fun friday with my little angel.. lets all wish she gets an A for this! ;)

*Arrrgh*.. tomorrow is Saturday! >_<

[craving: The right plan]

What do you do when you have two equally important things that you have to decide on which to pick & you can only choose one? You go through all the compare & contrast, pros & cons, evaluating & researching into them.. but even after all that.. you still find yourself where you started: you still can't decide.. yet you're running out of time.. coz in this case.. every second counts.. =/

On the brighter side.. my head is bursting with ideas for work-related issues.. & it's all just a matter of formulating the right plan so you put everything into action.. B)

It's one of those days when I don't really have much to say.. but I really have the strongest urge to update..
[Final whisper: Dhabyani & Serdal.. Thank you for your support.. =)]

[craving: Do-BUY!]

Now you see them..

..but after 15th of May 2005, you won't!
Abu-Dhabi issued a new law that bans the sale of newspapers from the traffic light stops in the streets starting 15th of this month.. Though we would miss the faces that hand you over your daily newspaper or weekly magazine, those faces that light up with a bright smile once you hand in some extra change or a small note of money, or a grateful thankyou when you offer them an ice-cold small bottle of water.. but I guess when you think about it, its for the better.. After all, it is a very dangerous job that requires tremendous effort by running around under the hot sun for long hours and for very minimum wage.. I just hope that these hard-working men would be given different (and safer) jobs instead once the new law is enforced.. & not just be left unemployed or sent back to their countries..
So before the 15th comes, (4 days away) why not make someone's life just a 'little' better by handing over your extra change or even your odd 5Dhs or 10Dhs notes to that sweaty, hard-working newspaper man.. before the light turns green.. & you drive away.. leaving behind you a potential smile or a little prayer coming your way that, if God wills, may be granted.. =)

A big, flowery MABROOK for all the graduates! Way to go, you finally made it! Remember, this is just the beginning of your 'real' lives! ;) Extra sweet congrats to SweetCandy, Leo, Zooz, Na3noo3ah, ChoCol8 Add!ct, Sushie, Aneesa, Fooo.. & the rest of their gang.. 1000 mabrook 3al naja7.. & to the best always! *hugs*
[Final whisper: There's no mention for you in this entry.. we're keeping it extra happy for now! ;)]

[mood: Loosing my mind]
[craving: lol I rather not say]

Lately I have been suffering from memory loss.. I’d forget the slightest things even if I was just thinking about them 10 seconds ago! It’s weird because I wasn’t like that before.. infact I used to remember the tiniest things some people wouldn’t even think of.. Maybe it’s the food I eat.. the stress.. the insomnia I’ve been suffering from lately (lol yeah I sound like an old lady).. but I will do something about it inshallah.. thanks to FireBrand for giving me a few tips & convincing me that its not the end of the world after all! lol
A few tips I found online if you are loosing your brain like me, to help you remember better:
-CONCENTRATE.. if you’re not paying attention, then naturally you won’t remember..
-Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse! The more you repeat something you want to remember.. the most likely you won’t forget it..
-Use a notepad.. scribble down what you need to remember..
-Pin it up! Why do you think they invented Post-its! Or jot it down on your calendar..
-Pair new stuff with old and familiar concepts..
-Turn the thing you want to remember into a mental image..
-Use other kinds of cues.. like memorizing the first letter or name of the thing & using this to remember the rest..
- Show and tell.. If someone is giving you information in one form, say in words, and there is also an option to receive it in nonverbal form, say a diagram, take it in both forms. A good example is directions to someone's house. Have the person both tell you how to get there, and show you how to get there by drawing a map. (6arrar oo yitshara6) =P
-Group information into logical categories.. or "chunking.".. It simplifies the process of storing information in memory. For example, a mental grocery list of bananas, carrots, oranges, and potatoes can be reduced to 2 categories: fruits & vegetables..
-Do you really need to hear it all?.. Limit the amount of information. If someone giving you a lot, ask what the most important parts are. Also, if possible, have the person organize what they are saying, ask them to chunk, too! =P
-Avoid Selective Attention..
-Don't forget the bookstore!.. The psychology section of popular bookstores often contains paperbacks on how to improve your memory. You'll have to browse through these until you find one that seems good. Not all of the suggestions will apply, but some will. Amazon.com would be extra handy since you get reviews from other readers plus better prices!

Again, my humble website made the NEWS..! Even though it was a little mention but I was very honored.. =D Thanks for sharing with me Dhabyani! ;)
