UAE Kitten

Chicago is definitely added to the list of my fav cities.. everything about it was beautiful.. From their magnificent “wannabe beach” lake lol.. to their super friendly people.. beautiful, actually BEST, weather ever.. skyscrapers & parks.. It was like a mini, yet very clean & minus sirens, New York.. (I still *heart* NY too)

First day we took a double-decker, open top bus tour of the city & we were lucky to have a very funny tour guide.. Who drove us infront of Oprah’s house & started screaming her name out of the mic to come out!! LOL

The buildings were breathtaking.. Nearly each of the buildings had a story & there were alot of movies shot around there too..

Doesnt the Trump Tower look like Burj Dubai minus a needle?

When I first saw this, I cringed on the sight of the cars being parked right at the edge.. Apparently these buildings were inspired the famous cartoons “The Jetsons” & were built sometime during the 70ies.. (according to our guide)

While we were on the bus, a blimp was flying above us, I had to take this shot =p

I also realized in this recent trip to the US that they now have one dollar coins.. apparently recently introduced? Anyone seen them before?

Anyways that’s all for now.. I have so much MORE to share and talk about.. but for now I better try to sleep & fix this jetlag =/

I never realized how much I hated long flights.. I mean, ive been on long flights before & yes, previously to New York.. but I guess this one was just dragging like forever..

Actually I wont blame it on the service or the plane – which was the best out of all the times ive been on Etihad (these guys are improving big time).. but I will blame it on my choice of movies..

I had 14 hours and 25 minutes to kill.. Yes you heard me.. that’s how long it takes to get to the Big Apple from Abu Dhabi.. & I watched 3 depressing movies.. not one or two.. but THREE depressing movies.. & I didn’t realize that until half way the movie & decide to watch it till the end hoping it would pick up and become exciting..

They were all movies inspired from real life incidents.. the harsh reality of various things like single parenthood, mentally challenged children, family & their problems, love aches, marriage problems, financial struggles & all their baggage.. They weren’t all that bad.. but to watch them consecutively, in a dark plane, while everyone is sleeping is not recommended at all..

Anyway, if anyone wants to taste a depressing sip of life, the movies are:

- Edge of Love, starring Keira Knightley

- Phoebe in Wonderland, starring Felicity Huffman

- Sunshine Cleaning, with rising actresses Amy Adams & Emily Blunt

And no, trying to fix it by watching several episodes of comedy shows of Friends, My Name is Earl, Big Bang & all.. will not cure the bitter mood

All in all, in total it took 33 hours to get to the final destination: CHICAGO.. yes THIRTY THREE hours *scream*

Lets just hope the States is worth it & will offer me a cup of happiness in return lol
