UAE Kitten

I’ve always heard about Sir Baniyas Island.. but never had the chance to visit it except a week ago.. After the short flight, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff there.. I never expected it to be the way it is.. magnificent! With all the animals set to run freely.. the gorgeous desert landscapes & the crystal clear beaches.. I wasn’t only swept away with how beautiful it is.. but also with the special people I was with.. =)

I also got to experience the luxurious newly opened Anantara Hotel.. cozy, beautiful rooms/villas & friendly people..

The Rheem gazelles were everywhere in the island.. as well as llamas, flamingoes, giraffes and many others..  unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to take photos of other animals..

One of my bros – a comic freak – walked in one day with a magazine he bought from a nearby gas station called Khayal. I saw it laying in the couch, & when I flipped through it, I was impressed that it was made & produced by locals here.. & specifically from Al Ain! =)

I always get this warm fuzzy feeling knowing that a local guy or girl is excelling in a field that is appealing to many, especially the youth – & this was one of them.. I was glad that the local talents are now using their artistic skills (& yes, there are many as I recall back in my uni days) in something like a magazine such as this one.. Inspired by our culture, fused in another (Japanese anime) & produced as good quality comics..

It was purposely in black & white so you would ‘concentrate on the content rather than taken away by their colors’.. Although the stories need a little more strengthening, I am sure it will get better.. The drawings are already impressive for a first issue..

Big round of applause to the artists & contributors of this magazine.. & to the best always!

Abu Dhabi will never be the same again, especially after the launch of twofour54 - an amazing initiative that is unique to the region & it would be the place that would be any creative person’s Disney land!

Everything about it is so cool, right to its very name – which are the coordinates of the location of Abu Dhabi in the map (longitude 24, latitude 54) = twofour54.. =D The launch itself was the talk of the town – in big bubbles on the beach facing the beautiful skyline of Abu Dhabi city (photos in this post)

I am so honored to have witnessed the birth of this promising giant & can’t wait to see how it will produce content & people that will change the world! 

I am extra proud of Noura Al Kaabi, a young UAE National woman & an exceptional friend, who happens to be one of the ‘four pillars’ that hold this giant together.. It is a great honor to know that – & hopefully would set an example to all the National youth (both men AND women) & inspire them to know that the sky is the limit once you set your mind & efforts into it! A big, warm round of applause to Noura (Allah ywafgch w ysahhel 3alaich) – this is just the beginning & we’re looking forward for more from a shining star! *hugs*
