I walked back into memory lane as soon as I stepped into a ‘baqala’.. back in the day when 5Dhs seemed like a great fortune!
It wasn’t the best baqala, but it was enough to put a smile to my face just remembering..

Yesterday: had iftaar @ The Atlantis Dubai with the girls not realizing it was the 1st day of its soft opening! (special thanks to Bo Ahmed for his suggestion!) & it was breathtaking!! It was as good as the photos of the email forwards, we felt like the little mermaids walking around.. lol & the best part of the whole visit was we bumped into Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashed TWICE!! =D
We had reservations at Saffron, which was the only available restaurant at such short notice.. & hey we weren’t complaining 
It reminded me of AD ShangriLa’s buffet.. live cooking stations of Asian food & a chocolate fountain dessert station.. *slurrp*

Before anything: Thanks to awwwl those who emailed & msged regarding the adoption of Batman & Stripey from the previous post.. Although I wish I can just give one to each of you.. but there are only two.. & were given to the first people who emailed.. Better luck next time (& yes, this was fun to see all those cat lovers out there!)
One of the best things in Remthaan are the gatherings, beautiful spiritual atmosphere & the food! One ritual we have every year is the annual cooking gathering with friends.. where we awwwl cook different dishes, then sit & enjoy it for ftoor.. This year I did one of my fav & addictive dishes: the “Italian Biryani“, & with the assistance of my best food partner: MissArmani.. xOxo
Another dish that was extreeeeeemely addictive was the delicious Rice Fatteh by M&Ms and Leo.. omg I can’t get over how AMAZING it tasted!! I did crave it for several days later (& will soooo regret posting its pics tomorrow when Im fasting!)
Saj did a Rice, Meat & Eggplant Casserole which also tasted good & FLAME did a Banana cake (which I didnt realize was gluten free except today!!) I wish I tasted it =/
One of the highlights of the night was the gluten-free 5anafroosh by Manar & Shamma.. Omg its been a year since I tasted any.. & this was even better than the real version (omg abbaaaaaaaa)
& to end the night, we were introduced to the most amazing chocoholic cookies (& there were gluten-free versions for me).. MASH cookies made by ours truly: M&Ms and Leo.. I really reeeeally think you guys MUST open your own business coz 7aram these cookies are not shared with the whole world!!
