happiness

[mood: happy]
[craving: a trip 2 Dxb]

Ever wonder what real happiness is? I have often been in many depressing moods.. Always focusing on the negative parts.. Why this?? Why me..? Why not otherwise? .. ect No matter how much i feel, think or talk about it.. It never changes.. if it does, will only increase..So what now? I often thought about it.. Until I once heard this woman (Allah yjzeeha kil 5air) talk about happiness and explained that the source of real happiness is within oneself.. As long as your heart is happy.. belonging to God.. then everything else won’t affect you.. Infact it would change things to the better.. Happiness can be owned by anyone- poor, rich, old, young or whatever.. doesnt matter as long as you focus on it and know how to obtain it.. Here are a few things you might consider if you are seeking the treasure- happiness:
1) Set your love up to God’s standards.. Anything and anyone you love, for Allah’s sake.. anything below might diminish or hurt you.. Because it is only this kind of love – Loving Allah – that is the purest kind of love and yes.. its eternal.. as long as your life is focused on that, nothing else should bother you..
2) Love yourself.. love others.. it will pay back in the form of pure happiness.. why wait for others to make you happy? Start from within, and spread it around.. Don’t worry.. its endless and there will be enough for everyone.. ;)
3) Never envy others.. instead work hard for what they have or earned and be grateful of what you already have.. If you look sourly at what others have and wish you got it instead.. sorrow and depression will definitely be your best friends.. Reality check: no one on Earth is perfect.. everyone everywhere will always lack something.. and will want more.. its human nature.. Still hard? Then do it the easy way and look at those under you and you will surly discover the set of treasures you have got..
These are just a few steps.. as long as you understand the idea and implement it.. happiness shall find its way to you.. and hopefully to those around you.. =)

Special thanks to Kaneda for this sweet graphic.. =)

That’s all for now.. happy day everyone.. ;)

knowledge

[mood: powerful]
[craving: more fun]

“Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.” - Confucius
They say knowledge is power.. so how much should a person know to sieze the power? Ofcourse, I agree knowledge is limitless, no one can know everything.. ever.. except for Allah.. but when you know more than anyone else, you have more control of the situation and so you are ahead with a few points.. This always seemed to be one of the best ‘games’ on the net.. People can easily hide behind virtual names and play their game.. its fun- true, especially if you have the ball in your hand.. but sometimes things aren’t as they seem to be.. thats when you should ‘look beyond what you see’.. in order to play it right my friend.. ;)

That’s all for now.. have a great week ahead everyone.. I know I will.. inshAllah.. ;) p.s. The sky is empty without the Eclipse[Final whisper: Things are not as 'simple' my friend.. ;) ]

[mood: neutral]
[craving: peace]

I posted this topic a few months ago in one of the forums, and I am bringing it up again due to its importance:
Once upon a time, “Athan” was something we heard 5 times a day whereever we are in the country..Today, however, the case is different..Not that the masjids stoped calling for prayers.. but there are ‘distractions’ that weren’t around few years ago, and I am talking about the media.. and the FM specifically.. When it first started.. there was a break for ‘Athan’ when it was time.. then later.. we began hearing some kind of flute playing.. (o’3neeyat al-athan as the kids used to call it *ast’3far Allah* but its true).. then today.. its completely ignored.. Yes.. No sign of any prayer times.. or that this stations is broadcasted from a respected muslim country.. Even if you don’t listen to FM, they still play it in public places like the Mall.. Loud music and dance songs during the Athaan, without even giving it the slightest bit of respect.. You hear “Jawad” screaming like a girl whoes pony tail is stuck somewhere, in what they call “music”, muffling away the calls for prayer and still people clap and sing along to his “noise”.. You walk in the Marina Mall, and suddenly its Ma’3reb, but you won’t guess until you go outside and see the orange sky, or look at your watch.. if you know the athan time.. But if you did neither, you would hear the FM playing normally as usual, or shops cramming out the music carelessly..
Did we reach a point, where our belief in Islam has been taken for granted?! What happened to the moments of silence and spirituallity as we hear the calls for prayers? Calls for prayers, five times a day.. how long does it take.. 5 mins? 7 mins? Can’t the music be turned off, if not down for these few mins..?! Can’t people pretend to at least have respect??!
Maybe just like many of our values and beliefs, “Athan” is not considered trendy anymore..!? *ast’3fr Allah*
I can think of for now, is to at least advice people about it, and conserve the respect *if any is left*..Here are few points you can do to help:
1) Switch off the FM, radio or whatever music you have on during athan prayer- If they have no respect, at least you do..
2) If you are out in the mall, and you heard the athan, kindly ask the shopkeepers to turn down the music during Athan..
3) Try to spread the word about this to raise more awareness.. oo inshAllah Allah yrzggekom el-ajjar
p.s. This post does not target any specific FM station- you would know which ones I mean anyways.
